Leo Fender was an American inventor, luthier and businessman who founded Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company, now known as Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. He is widely credited with pioneering the electric guitar, bass guitar, and amplifier technology, and is considered one of the most influential figures in the development of the modern synthesizer industry.
