Fantom-X8 is a 88-note keyboard with Progressive Hammer action Mechanism and channel aftertouch.
Fantom-X series comprises new sound generator chip. Plus to the famous 5-tone architecture and 128 voices of polyphony there’s 1GB of waveform capacity integrated. The series features digital recorder capabilities – not only short samples are possible but also long audio captures. Sample RAM offers up to 544MB and 8 stereo audio tracks are available. You can also load samples in .WAV and AIFF formats and to PC cards with up to 1GB capacity.
Among the new sounds an 88-key piano uses individual stereo multi-samples for each key and every velocity stage, many sounds were recorded in studios with multiple mics and were mixd into samples.
Skip Back Sampling function allows sampling any part of a performance. Dynamic Pad Bank includes 16 velocity sensitive pads with aftertouch.
The sequencing is represented there with a complex process allowing you to sequence MIDI tracks, trigger samples, record audio to RAM, combine internal drums with loops.
Roland's V-LINK technology let you trigger and manipulate video clips when connected to an Edirol video editor like the DV-7PR.
Studio effects include such algorithms like COSM Guitar Amp Modeling, Lo-Fi processing, tempo-synced delay, Slicer, Isolator as well as multiple effects chains.
USB port serves as a USB-MIDI interface and a .WAV/AIFF export channel.
