The Korg Triton workstation represents the natural evolution of Korg's renowned Trinity series, maintaining the high-quality sound and innovative features that made its predecessor an industry standard while adding significant enhancements. With its striking silver sparkle finish and touch-sensitive screen, the Triton combines professional sound production capabilities with intuitive operation.
Building on Trinity's foundation, the Triton addresses previous limitations with increased polyphony (62 notes, expandable to 68 with the MOSS option), additional audio outputs (six versus Trinity's four), and a more powerful sequencer capable of storing over 100,000 notes across 200 songs. The device introduces integrated sampling capabilities, dual polyphonic arpeggiators, dedicated real-time control knobs, and user-installable expansion options.
The Triton retains Korg's proven sound architecture but enhances it with 425 multisamples and 413 drum samples. Its Hyper Integrated (HI) synthesis system maintains the familiar Program and Combi structure while adding new modulation options and a more powerful filter. The effects processing has been reconfigured to provide five Insert effects and two Master effects with enhanced routing capabilities.
Perhaps most significantly, the Triton includes built-in sampling functionality, allowing 16-bit mono or stereo sampling at 48kHz with 16MB RAM standard (expandable to 64MB). The sampler integrates seamlessly with the synthesis engine, making complex sample manipulation and program creation remarkably straightforward.
The enhanced sequencer now offers individual track looping, Real-time Pattern Play/Recording (RPPR), template songs, and a Cue List mode, while the dual arpeggiators provide 232 patterns for instant musical inspiration.
