The Korg Nautilus 88 is the flagship model in the range, featuring a full 88-key RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action keyboard (A-C) that provides authentic piano feel and response. Despite its comprehensive feature set, this model remains manageable in terms of depth and weight, making it suitable for both studio installation and stage performance where the full keyboard range is essential.
This powerhouse workstation incorporates all nine of Korg's acclaimed synthesizer engines in a single integrated platform. The SGX-2 Premium Piano engine shines on the 88-key model, offering full stereo sampling of world-class grand pianos with up to 12 velocity levels, no looping, and sophisticated string resonance modeling. German, Italian, and Japanese piano models are included, each capturing the unique character and response of these legendary instruments.
The comprehensive synthesis architecture includes the EP-1's seven electric piano models with Multi-Dimensional Synthesis, the HD-1's advanced PCM engine with vector synthesis capabilities, and the CX-3's authentic tonewheel organ modeling. Physical modeling is represented by the STR-1 engine for plucked strings and acoustic instruments, while the MOD-7 combines VPM synthesis with wave-shaping and ring modulation.
Classic analog synthesizers live again through the AL-1 modeling engine and the Component Modeling Technology of the MS-20EX and PolysixEX engines. These provide everything from vintage analog bass and lead sounds to complex modular-style synthesis with patchable audio and modulation routing.
The 88-key model features the same streamlined control interface as its smaller siblings, with a 7-inch touchscreen and reduced physical controls compared to the Kronos. However, it retains all essential functionality including the sophisticated arpeggiator system, 16-track MIDI and audio sequencing, comprehensive sampling capabilities, and professional effects processing. The larger keyboard makes it ideal for piano-focused performances while maintaining access to the full range of synthesis and workstation features.
